If your accomplishments were tattooed on you you won’t question yourself
If everyone can look at their accomplishments as they go about their day the world will have fewer people doubting themselves.
Everyone has something to offer and everyone contributes something somewhere but most are blinded to what they bring to the table because they have a certain type of expectations of what they can be doing
These expectations blind people from truly seeing their true value. It blinds them from truly recognizing their accomplishments.
Because of these elaborate expectations of what you should be doing you begin to feel like you are not doing anything remarkable.
You look at the achievements you have and think it is not worth celebrating and being proud of. This view of your achievement and what you see outside doesn’t match so the self-doubt kicks in.
This self-doubt and the imposter syndrome you begin to feel in the workplace comes from your failure of recognizing and celebrating your accomplishment.
When you are too focused on what you can be doing while ignoring the things you have done it feels like you are not making any progress. It feels like you are stuck.
One huge pit a lot of people fall into is living too much in the future that they fail to recognize and appreciate the present.
They fail to acknowledge the current work they are doing, they fail to see how far they have come in reaching the position they have today
To gain back your confidence and eradicate imposter syndrome you have to start being more in the present and notice how your everyday effort contributes something to the larger goal.
You have to start seeing how much of your actions have sustained you in building the life you live today. Even if you are far from where you think you should be, have some self-compassion for yourself.
Be kind to yourself and your journey, know that it is a process and every step is for learning. The objective here is what is important. Fulfilling the objective is all that matters.
As long as you wake up to fulfill your objective you are on your way to something. You will eventually get what you have worked hard for.
