The greatest sin writers commit is never having a routine to write the other sin is always thinking if they should write.

Doing this shows how much you don’t have control of your process and how you leave your process to the hands of chance.

If you have dedicated yourself to creating and writing something for humanity you have to put yourself in situations and positions where you don’t have to second-guess yourself and your creation.

It starts with creating an environment that encourages the things you do and allows you to write at ease without wasting time wondering if today is the right day to do the things you desire.

Your environment matters when it comes to you being consistent with your pursuit. If you are not creating an environment that makes it easy for you to take action when needed then you have an environment working against you.

Writers sometimes hate routines and feel that writing should be spontaneous and that is where they make the mistake of their career. A routine must be created alongside your environment to maintain a consistent flow of writing.

Create a particular time to write every day. Show up every day and write at that exact time whether you feel like it or not. This type of routine helps you avoid the cluelessness of life and the unnecessary questions that comes with wondering if it is the right time to write.

It protects you from the hands of motivation and feeling like you are not in the mood. One thing you need to understand about writing is that motivation is a risky place to place your hope when you have chosen a writing career.

Nobody wakes up excited every day and jumps on their computer to write. There will be days you don’t feel like it, days you want to skip the process. No amount of motivation can save you from days like this.

But when you create a routine and environment for writing daily, you won’t need motivation to get things done. It is no more about feeling like writing but knowing it is a thing that should be done.

It becomes a task but unlike any other task a task you enjoy doing because you can finally see the benefit and growth that comes from writing and staying consistent with it.
