One of the triggers of imposter syndrome in the workplace is the lack of clarity around expectations and feedback

This is caused mostly when the people we are working for don’t set clear objectives and goals for the things we ought to accomplish.

Most people find it difficult to adapt to new places of work or a new department within the first few weeks because there isn’t a clear goal or objective.

Without a clear job description and performance expectations to reach a lot of people find it difficult to know exactly what they are doing there in the first place.

With such a lack of motive, people tend to feel insecure about their position and question their ability in the workplace.

Without a clear goal to work, the imposter syndrome of not being enough and seeking to dangle into unnecessary work to prove oneself becomes a theme.

A lot of organizations and employees can avoid this within their employers by providing a clear performance expectations. This expectation can come in weekly and monthly. It gives the people holding some certain position something they can visualize and work on

Offering regular feedback and check-ins with colleagues can go a long way in keeping everyone focused on what they should be working on and making sure the mental health of everyone is at a good place for maximum productivity.

Being transparent about how decisions are made is a key way to help employees look out for the mental health of their employers.

When people who work in an organization understand what factors are considered in making a company’s decision they know how to position themselves for future decision-making and create less friction.
