That love and desire to create irrespective of what the outcome is has to be there to keep you going as a writer.

The writing career first must start with love. You must do it because you enjoy every exercise of it and don’t care how outcomes play out.

You must love writing so much that all you ever want to do is write something and share with the world your curiosity.

For new writers, this is your only escape to longevity and consistency. This is the only thing that retains us from so many years of writing and having no one read our stuff till it becomes appealing.

The truth about life is that things eventually grow, like everything on earth does, and as long as we are consistent with our writing it is surely going to find its audience and bring to us our community.

But before that time comes things can be boring and might seem like there’s no progress being made that is directing us toward the growth of the career we choose to pick for ourselves.

This period can come with doubts and uncertainty. We will be filled with questions about whether we belong and are made for the path of a writer or whether we are busy wasting our time.

During times like this, it is the undying love we have for our craft that saves us and keeps us in the game. When there’s no answer or sign that we are going to make any progress the love for writing must keep the fire going and keep our creation going.

For writers who lack love for their craft or can’t seem to see beyond the days of drought and lonely writing staying consistent can be hard, the desire and drive to keep pushing is already absent but not lost.

Routines can be the solution for writers who are struggling with loving the game. I believe not everyone is going to have that love and urge to put something out there, especially when they are getting no echo back or feedback but routines can help you navigate the dark days.
