Why you can’t stop thinking about the past and how to stay focused on the present

When you can’t stop thinking about the past it is because there are some things you wished to have changed or done better.

Realizing the mistake of the past is growth in itself but being stuck there is the opposite of growth and whatever you think you can do.

If you can go back and get things right you would have done that and quit thinking about the past. You would have started correcting those mistakes in your present time and making the future better

But thinking is anti-productive. It doesn’t get you anywhere or help you do anything. It keeps your mind in the past and helps you stay in the past without any productive pursuit.

Like I wrote earlier, it is okay to look back to the past but okay when you are about to correct some mistakes and fix things for the better.

When you are not doing that then you need to focus your mind and attention on the present.

Engage yourself in many activities that put your mind in the present. Games that have you focused on bringing results.

If games and activities aren’t your things being involved in some business or new career path that is demanding will have you more focused on the present.

The goal here is to get involved in things that call your attention to the present
