Will people read this? Will they find out I am a fraud? Will they notice how immature I am with my thinking process? What if I am not good enough?

So many questions keep the writer stuck. As writers sometimes we are our enemy with the words we say to ourselves.

Our problem isn’t writing but choosing to write and choosing to trust ourselves while we write. The doubts, insecurity, and feeling of incompetence stop us from writing

We keep overthinking the process of writing and that stops us from even writing. It keeps us far from being our true selves whenever we take up the opportunity to write something

We live too much in our heads and most times we believe the things that come out of that conversation we have with ourselves.

The negative self-talk continues to determine how we see ourselves in the world and how we see our writing.

Wondering if people are going to find out if you are a fraud isn’t the problem, wondering if they are going to read your work isn’t the problem, trying to know if they are going to find out that you are not good enough isn’t the problem. The problem is that you are not writing.

The only way out of the storms of life is to continue moving and getting out of that place. When you remain in the same spot of the storm it will continue to haunt your life and destroy the things you have built

Understand that the world will always be opinionated and some people who will never see reasons to relate to your writing. These people will judge you as they judge the greatest of writers and everyone doing fantastic work.

Focusing on this percent of the world will keep you not properly taking care of your skills and growing. It will have you thinking it is not worth it to try in the first place. It will discourage you from wanting to improve your writing.

The solution is not to appeal to this percent of the world. Run where you are appreciated and do your best work for these people.

As long as you write some people will be interested in what you are writing about. It is like finding your tribe and sharing your whole being with them.

As writers, you want to understand consequences and you want to know how you can make that work in your favor.

Understanding consequences is knowing that you can’t be everything to everyone and that you have to pick a space while losing other space. That you have to give up something for something better.

This mindset took me a long time to understand but has improved my writing and sharpened how I present them. The fact that I know whom I am writing for makes my writing more meaningful

So be okay with ignoring the people who don’t see your worth for those whom you can be comfortable creating for. For those who understand you and you don’t have to be insecure with.

Talking to other writers and sharing ideas on how you can improve your writing and find your tribe can be helpful in your writing career
